How a backsplash project works
- Estimate. Our sales team reviews the wall area, your tile and any old backsplash to remove.
- Layout. We plan the pattern so cuts are balanced and grout lines meet outlets and cabinet edges cleanly.
- Preparation. Old tile is removed and the wall is repaired and flattened.
- Installation. Tile is set, cut around outlets and switches, and finished at the ends with trim or a clean edge.
- Finish. Grout, caulk at the countertop, sealing for stone, and cleanup.
Cost and timeline
Most kitchen backsplashes cost about $1,500 to $9,500 installed, depending mainly on the tile, and take about two days of work.

Can you remove my old backsplash?
Yes. We remove the existing tile and repair the wall before installing the new backsplash.
Should the backsplash go to the ceiling?
Full-height backsplashes suit range walls and kitchens without upper cabinets. A standard height is usually up to the underside of the cabinets. We can show you both in a quote.
How much does a backsplash cost?
About $1,500 to $9,500 installed. Mosaics, herringbone and stone cost more than subway tile because of the material and the cutting. Call (781) 893-7041 or request a quote.
How long does a backsplash take?
About two days.
Is your work warrantied?
Yes. ASTI warrants its workmanship for one year from the date of completion. We are a registered Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor, #141722. We do not offer financing.
