How a bathroom tile project works

  1. Estimate. Call or request a quote. Our sales team reviews the space, the tile you have in mind and the scope of work.
  2. Tile selection. Pick tile at the Tile International showroom, or bring us your selections.
  3. Preparation. We check the walls and floor, set the substrate and waterproof the wet areas before any tile goes down.
  4. Installation. Our installers lay out the pattern, set the tile and cut around fixtures, niches and corners.
  5. Finish. Grout, sealing where the material needs it, cleanup and a final walkthrough with you.

Waterproofing

Shower walls are waterproofed with the Schluter system. Shower floors are built with a rubber membrane and a mortar mud bed, or with Schluter waterproofing when the shower has a linear drain. That’s the part of a shower you never see, and the part that decides whether it lasts.

Cost and timeline

  • Tiled shower: about $2,500 to $20,000 or more, depending mostly on the tile or stone; about one week of work.
  • Full bathroom: about $20,000 to $40,000, depending mostly on the tile or stone; about three to four weeks.

Prices include installation; material choice drives most of the range. Every job carries a one-year workmanship warranty from completion.
